Another great children's game is just about to be released. After
so many years of little to nothing coming out from Christian publishers
for children's computer games, we are seeing two hit the market
this year. Charlie the Church Mouse™ is sure to be a hit with kids
and their Moms who want good, wholesome, Christian oriented fun
for their preschoolers.
Charlie
the Church Mouse™ contains its activities inside six stories: Creation,
Noah's Ark, Jonah and the Wale, Three Wise Men, Fishes and Loaves
and Parable of the Lost Coin. The stories are told through various
activities. For instance, Creation has you assemble a variety of
puzzles and Noah's Ark has you pairing up animals.
Of
all the activities, the mystery/searching game was the most fun
for my youngest children (elementary aged so they are a beyond the
appropriate age level) and I have to agree with them. This is a
nice way to encourage problem solving. It was interesting and easily
the most fun of all the activities.
The
game allows for two different difficulty settings. This allows the
game to truly reach early preschool to later preschool ages. The
game we reviewed was not the final version (It was the Alpha version).
The final version may contain some additional content.
If
there was one weakness in Charlie the Church Mouse™, it was in the
amount of content it offers. This is a common rant from me about
every Children's game I've seen. Everything in it was done well,
but it could use more to do.
Still
If you're looking for more than one kids game this Fall or for Christmas,
Charlie the Church Mouse™ is a game you should consider seriously.
While there are two good new games for Children on the market today,
there is very little overlap between them. You could easly buy both...they
are that different from each other.
It's
really great seeing solid Children's activity games coming on the
market for the Christian community. It's about time. If you're a
Mom, Dad, Grandpa or Grandma, don't fail to check out Charlie the
Church Mouse™.
